Grand Stable of the Palace of Versailles
The Academy of the equestrian arts, a unique corps de ballet
Created by Bartabas in the Grand Stable of Versailles Palace in 2003, the Academy of Equestrian Arts is a “corps de ballet” quite unique. It main originality lies in the confrontation of various artistic disciplines, like dancing, singing, fencing or Kyudo, traditional Japanese archery. The equerries are acquiring an aesthetic sensitivity that allows them to develop their own repertoire – whose show “la Voie de l’écuyer” is the reflection – and to put themselves in the service of original productions in atypical places.
La Voie de l'écuyer opus 2013
The Equestrian exhibition has been choreographed by Bartabas for the horsemen of the Academy of Equestrian Arts of Versailles. Carrousel of Lusitanian horses (with a cream-colored and blue eyes), Sorraias horses with long reins, horseback artistic fencing and equestrian improvisation are orchestrated together by Bartabas with Jean-Sebastien Bach music.
After the show, you can visit the stables built by Jules Hardouin-Mansart and restored by Patrick Bouchain. The visit of the stables is included in the ticket for twenty to thirty minutes.
